Dr. Ryan Shaw

Dr. Ryan Shaw was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Health Management Systems from Duquesne University.  Dr. Shaw earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.  After receiving his dental degree, he came back to Pittsburgh for a two-year Pediatric Dental Residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to become a certified Pediatric Dental Specialist.  He has achieved diplomat status with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  Dr. Shaw maintains hospital privileges at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.  After his formal education and residencies, Dr. Shaw spent several years in private practice in the Pittsburgh area.  He began practicing at the offices of Pediatric Dentistry of Pittsburgh in 2016 after the retirement of Dr. David Selvig.

 

Dr. Shaw is thrilled to call Pittsburgh home and raise his family in the city with his wife Rachael.  She is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  Together with their children Jacob and Tessa, the Shaw’s live in Mt. Lebanon.  They enjoy vacationing, dining out, and taking in all that Pittsburgh has to offer.  Dr. Shaw’s personal interests include golf, exercise, and all things Pittsburgh sports.

Dr. Brian Martin

Dr. Brian Martin is a native to the Pittsburgh area and is excited to be joining the team of doctors at Pediatric Dentistry of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Martin received his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. In 2014 he completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Delivery (MHCDS) in a joint program of the Tuck School of Business and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. He has been a member of the Professional Staff of UPMC Children’s Hospital for 25 years. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Martin has been privileged to have held a variety of administrative roles in pediatric healthcare, including Population Health as well as Quality and Safety.  He serves on the Board of Variety the Children's Charity of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Martin lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife Dr. Amy Nevin and his two sons.  He and his family enjoy outdoor activities such as triathlons, hiking and fishing and spending time with his Clumber Spaniel, Huckle.

 

Dr. Martin is excited to provide dental care in a private practice setting for children in the Pittsburgh area.

Dr. Ashley Pollick

Dr. Ashley is a native of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with a double minor in Psychology and Chemistry from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with honors from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, Downers Grove, IL. She has been recognized for her volunteer services which include Give Kids a Smile, Special Olympics, TeamSmile, Feeding America, and international dental missions.

 

After earning her doctorate she returned to Pittsburgh, PA where she completed a general practice residency at UPMC. Having a lifelong love for working with and caring for children, she then pursued her passion of pediatric dentistry at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Ashley served as chief resident and gained extensive dental training while collaborating with other dental and medical specialists. After earning her certificate as a pediatric dentist she entered into private practice and remains an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Pennsylvania Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Northeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania Dental Association.

 

Dr. Ashley values each individual child and finds their creative imagination uplifting and inspiring. This is one of the many reasons why caring for children and their oral health has become her passion. She is excited to serve and practice in the community in which she was raised. Outside of dentistry she enjoys traveling the world, taking on outdoor adventures, DIY projects, gymnastics, and supporting the great city of Pittsburgh’s sports teams.

Dr. Nandita Pearce

Dr. Nandita Pearce began her undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh and then she attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. In 1989, she received her D.M.D from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. A three year Orthodontic Residency then began at Temple University School of Dentistry where she earned her Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics as well as a Masters of Science in Oral Biology and a Masters of Science in Dentistry, in 1992.

 

Dr. Pearce is active in many professional organizations among which are the American Associations of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Society of Orthodontists, the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontists, the Western Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontics (past President of WPSO from 2007-2016). Her goal is to provide the highest quality care for her patients by regularly attending continuing education courses in orthodontics and dentistry. She aspires to work with each patient to achieve optimum oral health, function and appearance.

 

Dr. Nandita Pearce currently lives in Murrysville with her husband Robert, their son Tai and their three cats. She has been practicing orthodontics in the Pittsburgh area for over 25 years.

Dr. Jeff Borandi

Dr. Jeff Borandi is a Pittsburgh native with nearly two decades of experience providing anesthesia services to dental offices in Western and Central PA. While his focus is mainly on the pediatric population, Dr. Borandi also has extensive experience with patients who have intellectual disabilities, neurodivergent disorders, and other special needs. He stays current with the science of the discipline through active memberships in various professional anesthesia organizations, as well as his adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Borandi is a Diplomate with the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (ADBA.org), which is the only ADA recognized board certification for Anesthesiology in dentistry. Crafting creative solutions for complex problems in order to balance safety and efficiency in the outpatient arena is a cornerstone of Dr. Borandi’s career.

 

When Dr. Borandi is not working, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, or spending time with family and friends. He resides in suburban Pittsburgh with his wife, Suzanne, and their chocolate labradoodle, Tucker.
